Marketing Coordinator

SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator position for NICOR will direct and manage the marketing activities for NICOR, Inc. resulting in measurable increased sales, brand awareness, and profitability.  Along with NICOR’s Marketing Team, will work collaboratively with Sales, E-commerce, and Engineering to achieve successful and outstanding product placement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensures continuity and adherence to NICOR’s Brand Standards.
  2. Effectively manage product launch schedules for new products or generational updates working in parallel with Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain Management Teams.
  3. Provide copywriting/editing as needed for marketing collateral, digital advertising, social media, speaking abstracts, press releases and public relations.
  4. Collaborate with E-commerce Managers and Professional Channel Managers, marketing initiatives and support digital and print collateral to effectively grow sales through this channel.
  5. Manage collaboration with E-commerce to build and maintain the Salsify media database for all products.
  6. Track effectiveness of digital marketing activities via email, website, E-commerce sites, LinkedIn, You Tube, etc.
  7. Manage all Trade Show activities, sales tools, and budgets.
  8. Travel to Industry Events, Trade Shows, Key Customers, etc.
  9. Collaborate with Sales and Product Development to ensure the Lighting Technology Center promotional displays and marketing collateral are updated and maintained appropriately. Coordinate and manage customer, factory representative, engineers, architects, and other visits to the LTC with the Sales Department, Engineering, and others.
  10. Primary liaison to the NAED, ALA, NECA, NEMRA (and all other similar trade groups and organizations currently established or to be established).
  11. Collaborating with Engineering to create NICOR product training programs for our sales employees, factory representatives, customers, and end users.
  12. Produces graphics and videos for a variety of Company communication projects.
  13. Plans, designs and produces print and online publications to include catalogs, manuals, brochures, handbooks, specification sheets, advertisements, exhibition graphics, presentations and other materials.
  14. Prepares layouts, designs, and artwork for exhibitions and tradeshows, including signage, handouts, banners, display graphics, and other promotional elements.
  15. Coordinates relationships with vendors, preparing artwork and specifications and obtaining estimates for final approval.
  16. Ensures continuity and adherence to NICOR’s Brand Standards among external and internal communications; prepares artwork for printers and vendors.
  17. Package design and graphics for products offered by NICOR.
  18. Communicate as required in a positive and professional manner with all departments of NICOR and corporate staff.
  19. Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Business, Marketing, or related field or combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in the Lighting industry helpful, but not necessary.
  • Minimum of five (5) years proven successful marketing experience, with documented success in achieving market share and/or growth within business channel.
  • Three (3) years management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience/knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Salsify and HubSpot, as well as MS Office 365, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Lead and Manage staff to achieve goals and objectives per agreed timeline.

Director of Operations & Supply Chain

SUMMARY:

The Director of Operations and Supply Chain creates functional strategies and specific objectives for demand planning, purchasing, transportation and inventory management, and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Responsible for procurement of finished products and components, management of incoming and outgoing transportation, and oversight of all supply chain and operations activities necessary for the management of raw materials, finished good inventory, and order fulfillment. Manage a complex supply chain for both domestic and global operations while ensuring all finished goods orders are fulfilled on time and complete.

This position requires flexibility, a strong commitment to excellence and detail, and someone that performs well in a fast-paced environment filled with complexity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Set the vision and strategy for forecasting, purchasing and inventory management to ensure a “best-in-class” supply chain management program is executed to support company growth strategies and is adaptable to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  2. Define and ensure delivery against key performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain and operations factors, such as product cost, on-time delivery, vendor quality, outbound shipping metrics, inbound shipping matrix, inventory turnover, fill rates, ROA (Return on Assets), line-item fill rates, customer specific requirements especially as it relates to ecommerce shipments.
  3. Responsible for hiring, training, developing. and leading teams who manage the purchasing, supply chain management, and delivery of products to support the business needs of NICOR, Inc. Ensures all employees have a clear and thorough understanding of their roles and responsibilities and how they relate to the overall goals of the company.
  4. Leads collaboration with cross-functional departments to identify resources needed to establish and maintain an effective supply chain.
  5. Requires subject matter expertise in purchasing, supply chain processes, international business, and logistics.
  6. Interact with domestic and international contract manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors on all matters pertaining to NICOR’s supply chain.
  7. Requires management of a product order from the moment a production order is issued all the way through invoicing and collection.
  8. Lead the development of companywide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), management, training, and process improvement as it relates to SOPs.
  9. Analyze shipping documents for logistics, billing accuracy and terms, re-negotiates terms as needed. review purchase orders, packing list, invoices, and logistics from domestic and international vendors for billing accuracy.
  10. Analyze and evaluate supplier quotations and services to determine the most competitive solutions and participate in the selection and development of new suppliers. Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  11. Oversee the process of maintaining current product information in the ERP system as needed, including adding new products, updating inventory levels, dimensions, barcodes, costs, sell price and other data necessary for maintaining accurate ordering and inventory control information.
  12. Reviews and analyzes reports to determine potential inventory/product overages and shortages and adjusts forecast/order quantities accordingly to maximize return on investment. Analyzes current inventories and procedures and suggests improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
  13. Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
  14. Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
  15. Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  16. Ensure data integrity within the SHIMS Inventory System.
  17. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain and operations.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred): Accounting, Business Management, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field of study.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities assigned and comprehensive knowledge of the industry.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 and operational process mapping.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification (preferred, but not required).
  • Supply Chain Certifications (preferred, but not required – CPIM, CSCP, CLTD).
  • Experience in the Lighting Industry (preferred, but not required).

Electrical Engineer

SUMMARY:

The Engineering team provides engineering support and technical direction for defining, designing, launching, and supporting NICOR’s solid-state lighting (SSL) and lighting controls product lines.  The Electrical Engineer I will focus on the design, development, and testing of our products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure product design integrity by reviewing designs, recommending actions, providing solutions to technical challenges, and provide overall electrical design support to the NICOR engineering group.
  2. Responsible for testing and evaluating lighting products and lighting control systems.
  3. Work with Management teams, Marketing, and Sales to define new product requirements, and map requirements into technical performance specifications.
  4. Work closely with Manufacturing Operations to bring new SSL product designs through prototyping, testing, certification, and product launch.
  5. Participate in SSL product design projects including technology provider selection, help determine project goals, schedules, and budgets.
  6. Define, organize, and maintain NICOR server file structure of SSL specifications, CAD files, design documents and revisions, bills of materials (BOMs), etc.
  7. Evaluate and select the electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical, and semiconductor components determined to be optimal for design and manufacture of NICOR SSL products.
  8. Review and evaluate new SSL technologies, competitor products, and NICOR SSL products (including field failures and customer returns) to keep NICOR at the forefront of SSL competition.
  9. Help optimize manufacturing cost reduction, quality control, and resolution of any product issues.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineering software – Electrical: Solid works PCB, Eagle PCB or similar EDA software package.
  • Understanding/knowledge of fundamental electronic design concepts.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with excellent follow-up.
  • BEEE or BSEET degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Outside Sales Manager

SUMMARY:

An integral part of our USA Account team, Outside Sales Manager will assume a leadership role in business development of new and current customers, project sales, product specification, and implementation of successful product launches while achieving sales and profitability goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Through professional selling efforts, increase sales of NICOR products throughout the assigned territory, meeting and exceeding sales and profitability targets
  2. Drive sales through assigned lighting agents, pushing them to sell, provide excellent customer service, and manage NICORs vast customer base.
  3. Provide excellent customer service, on-site troubleshooting, participate in customer and industry events
  4. Coordinate key customer (distributor and contractor) targets, solicitations, and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  5. In addition to selling through contractors and distribution, cultivate project sales through ESCOs, National Accounts, builders, developers, etc.
  6. With the assistance of the Marketing team, promote and increase brand awareness through sales and marketing activities within the assigned territory
  7. With samples, literature, and other provided sales tools, drive stock and project sales throughout the territory.
  8. Leverage, develop and maintain relationships with key customers throughout the territory to support increased NICOR sales and profits.
  9. 75% of time will be spent traveling within territory to effectively manage and train sales agents and monitor territory activities, trends, issues and opportunities for growth and increased market penetration. Some overnight travel is required. Also required to travel to NICOR Headquarters (Albuquerque, NM) to participate in strategic planning meetings
  10. Prepare and present detailed sales reports and forecasts to leadership team and key stakeholders.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Manufacturer representative management experience required
  • Minimum (2) years experience in the electrical and/or lighting Industry
  • Strong references from Distributors and Manufacturer Representatives a plus
