District Sales Manager - Northwest

FLSA: Exempt

SUMMARY:

An integral part of our USA Account team, the District Sales Manager (Northwest district) will assume a leadership role in business development of new and current customers, project sales, product specification, and implementation of successful product launches while achieving sales and profitability goals.

REPORTS TO:

Regional Sales Manager and/or Vice President of Sales

GEOGRAPHY COVERED:

Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Northern Idaho, Northern Nevada, territory is subject to change.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Through professional personal selling efforts increase profitable sales of NICOR, Inc. products throughout the DSM’s assigned territory.
  2. Drive increased sales through direct selling efforts – replacing the work typically performed by the lighting agent. Sales, service, follow-up, on-site troubleshooting, customer events, counter days, industry events, etc. Focus on driving increased sales and profits for NICOR.
  3. Coordinate distributor targets, solicitations, and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  4. Coordinate contractor and end user targets, solicitations, and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  5. Promote and increase brand awareness through sales and marketing activities.
  6. With samples, literature and other sales tools provide by the company, will create stock and project sales throughout the territory.
  7. Drive stock sales through distribution and will drive project sales through distribution, contractors, ESCOs, National Accounts, builders, developers, etc.
  8. Ensure that sales are profitable and meet or exceed expectations and requirements as set by Management.
  9. Leverage, develop and maintain relationships with key customers throughout the territory to support increased NICOR sales and profits.
  10. Travel as required to effectively manage and train the outside sales staff and monitor territory activities, trends, issues and opportunities for growth and increased market penetration. Overnight travel sometimes required.
  11. Prepare detailed sales forecasts and projections as required and present plan to applicable employees.
  12. Required to travel to NICOR Headquarters (Albuquerque, NM) to participate in Operation Review meetings and ongoing training and strategy meetings.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Manufacturer Representative Management experience required
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in the Electrical and/or Lighting Industry

Graphic Designer

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer will provide a broad range of graphic design, communications, and marketing support to the organization. Responsible for developing, preparing, producing, and maintaining graphics and visuals for NICOR within the organization’s design standards and management direction. Works collaboratively within the marketing group and with other departments to realize a final product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Produces graphics and videos for a variety of Company communication projects.
  2. Plans, designs, and produces print and online collateral to include catalogs, manuals, brochures, technical specification sheets, advertisements, exhibition graphics, presentations, and other materials.
  3. Provides creative support for all outbound communications, including advertisements, promotional materials, website and other digital content, email marketing campaigns, monthly newsletters, and other projects.
  4. Assists with preparing layouts, designs, and artwork for exhibitions and tradeshows, including signage, handouts, banners, display graphics, and other promotional elements.
  5. Lead video production from start to finish including storyboard development, recording, editing, and final production. Videos to be used for educational and marketing purposes, online content, and other uses.
  6. Creates packaging designs and graphics for products offered by NICOR.
  7. Responsible for producing high-quality product and lifestyle photography for print and digital assets.
  8. Coordinates and maintains relationships with vendors. Prepare artwork and specifications, obtain estimates for approval and see projects through to completion.
  9. Handles routine projects, often on a quick turnaround basis, and adheres strictly to established deadlines.
  10. Ensures continuity and adherence to NICOR’s brand standards among external and internal communications and maintains necessary database of photography, artwork, and documents.
  11. Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, or related field or combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in the Lighting industry helpful, but not necessary.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, as well as MS Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Portfolio required.
  • Semantic front-end web development (HTML, CSS, Java Script) skills ideal but not required
  • Ability to perform duties in-person at the Albuquerque, NM office

Product Manager

SUMMARY:

NICOR Lighting's Product Manager will lead the NICOR lighting product line activities in North America and is responsible for product life cycle management, product commercialization, market penetration strategies and competitive leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Determine market needs and trends for various lighting products in North America. Implement product innovation strategies via voice of the customer (VOC) activities with sales team, distributors, contractors, architects, and end-users.
  2. Conduct detailed competitive analysis to keep NICOR an innovation leader within the industry. Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the competitive landscape using this understanding to provide competitive intelligence to sales.
  3. Define and maintain product roadmaps and features prioritization for all new and some existing products.
  4. Coordinate and lead all product training activities for internal/external sales teams and customers.
  5. Partner with sourcing department on identifying potential supplier sources for assigned products and provide analysis and recommendations
  6. Ensures that all product management deliverables are complete prior to each tollgate review and meets all deadlines.
  7. Oversee the product lifecycle and provide initial and long-term lifecycle forecasting.
  8. Work in close alignment with the marketing team to introduce products into the market on time and within budget. Develop collateral material for products and company materials.
  9. Act as subject matter expert for product level promotions by providing technical product content and competitive analysis; support trade-show activities.
  10. Detailed review of incoming new products to ascertain their market viability, overall quality, and strategic potential to add to the NICOR product line.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or business from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering, marketing, product management experience with technical products in the lighting industry, lighting controls or power management industries.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of residential and commercial LED lighting, technical specifications, applications, and implementation
  • Experience in wireless technology, controls, or smart technologies a strong plus

Warehouse Associate

FLSA: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager, perform all warehouse functions necessary in the daily operation of a distribution warehouse. Including but not limited to, moving inventory and other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles or shipping containers by hand, tractors, or other equipment.  Back up other warehouse functions and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain warehouse and equipment in a safe, organized and clean manner.
  2. Perform related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient use of all warehouse equipment, supplies and materials.
  3. Communicate as necessary with Warehouse Manager to ensure accurate and efficient control of inventory.
  4. Perform standard inventory control functions as required to maintain an accurate and efficient control of inventory.
  5. Load/unload inventory as required from appropriate shipping container or delivery vehicle
  6. Stage incoming/outgoing inventory in proper location(s)
  7. Read pick-tickets, packing slips and operate scan guns
  8. Record number of units received or shipped
  9. Pick, pack, weigh and attach identifying tags/labels for shipping inventory
  10. Install protective devices such as corner bracing and shrink wrap to prevent shifting or damage during shipping.
  11. Ship inventory using most cost-effective methods and carriers using SHIMS and other software provided
  12. Participate in ongoing product and company-wide training
  13. Perform Quality Control (QC) Inspection of all incoming inventory.
  14. Notify Return Good Authorization (RGA) Quality Control (QC) Inspector of customer returns

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year warehouse experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Electrical Engineer (Controls Engineer)

FLSA: Exempt

SUMMARY:

NICOR Lighting's Electrical Engineer will deal with control systems focusing on the design, development, and testing of our products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure product design integrity by reviewing designs, recommending actions, providing solutions to the most technical challenges, and providing overall electrical technical leadership.
  2. Specific responsibility for creating system architecture, combining lighting, controls, and services.
  3. Work with Management teams, Marketing, and Sales to define new product requirements, and map the requirements into technical performance specifications.
  4. Work closely with Manufacturing Operations to bring new SSL product designs through prototyping, testing, certification, and product launch.
  5. Differentiate and manage SSL product design projects including technology provider selection; project goals; schedules; budget; and overall project management functionalities.
  6. Define, organize, and maintain NICOR Server file structure of SSL specifications, CAD files, design documents and revisions, bills of materials (BOMs), etc.
  7. Evaluate and select the electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical, and semiconductor components determined to be optimal for design and manufacture of NICOR SSL products.
  8. Continuously review and evaluate new SSL technologies, competitor products, and NICOR SSL products (including field failures and customer returns) to keep NICOR at the forefront of SSL competition.
  9. Help optimize supply chain, manufacturing cost reduction, quality control, and resolution of any product issues.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineering software - Electrical: Solid works PCB, Eagle PCB, PC Worx, JetBrains; InDesign; Illustrator; Photometric toolbox.
  • Strong lighting controls experience, DALI protocols a plus.
  • Understanding/knowledge of lighting basics, solid state lighting, LED arrays and PCB design
  • Basic math and reading (English) skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with excellent follow-up.
  • Five years related industry experience, lighting or controls experience a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Programming experience with structured text, C, C++, Java script.
  • Experience with PLC programing to IEC 61131-3 standard and other system controls standards.
  • Theory-of-operation knowledge and understanding of LED’s, electrical power supply and drive circuitry, heat sink thermodynamics, optics, and general knowledge of Solid-State Lighting components.
  • Experience with DALI controls is a requirement. Additional experience with BLE MESH, Wi-Fi based system architecture, and wireless controls systems and low voltage system development a strong plus.
  • Experience with IoT solutions a plus
  • Experience specifying plug-n-play low-voltage and line-voltage wiring systems a plus
  • General hands-on proficiency with computers, electronic test instruments, lab and shop tools related to prototype building and testing.
  • Proven project management skills and experience as related to bringing new products to market on time and within budget.
  • Ability to interface with and manage a wide variety of component suppliers, technology vendors, contract manufacturers, design service providers, etc.
