Commercial Collections Specialist

FLSA: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision performs all activities related to the management and collection of NICOR’s accounts receivable and will be responsible for a range of accounting and customer service duties.

REPORTS TO:

NICOR Credit Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of their account
  • Perform collection activities on past-due accounts
  • Assist the Credit Manager in the event the account requires legal action, court appearances, or litigation of any kind
  • Process customer credit applications and handle account setups
  • Maintain customer files, collection notes, changes, updates, etc.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships with appropriate departments
  • Provide excellent follow-up for customers
  • Other miscellaneous accounting duties as assigned

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10-key touch speed of at least 8,000 kph
  • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm
  • Computer and multi-operational navigation skills
  • Beginner skill level with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Beginner skill level with Adobe Acrobat
  • At least one years’ work experience in commercial collections preferred

IT Support Specialist

SUMMARY:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help keep all systems running smoothly and minimize down time.
  • Provide support of computer and network related issues reported through support ticketing system, deskside or remotely.
  • New user computer/work station setup including SHIMS, Office 365 and email.
  • Phone system – Add/remove users and move user extensions. Fix general phone/system issues. Contact vendor for support if needed. Setup voicemail and reset voicemail passwords.
  • Create/setup VPN for users that need offsite access to internal company resources.
  • Remove access when end users leave company.
  • Help perform end of month/year ERP processing.
  • Track all company IT assets.
  • Maintains and implements "best practices" for system security and data recovery.
  • Coordinate/communicate with outside vendors for service/repair/replacement of various IT components around building.
  • Maintain and protect information and proprietary knowledge in a confidential manner, with adherence to NICOR’s privacy Policy.
  • Participate in continuing education, to ensure current job knowledge, state-of-the-art “Best Practices”, processes, and computing hardware & software.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in information technology support.
  • Understanding of network architecture and client/server technology.
  • Strong problem solving, and communication skills required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.

  • Drive increased sales through direct selling efforts – replacing the work typically performed by the lighting agent. Sales, service, follow-up, on-site troubleshooting, customer events, counter days, industry events, etc.  Focus on driving increased sales and profits for NICOR.
  • Coordinate distributor targets, solicitations, and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  • Coordinate contractor and end user targets, solicitations and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  • Promote and increase brand awareness through sales and marketing activities.
  • With samples, literature and other sales tools provide by the company, will create stock and project sales throughout the territory.
  • Drive stock sales through distribution and will drive project sales through distribution, contractors, ESCOs, National Accounts, builders, developers, etc.

ESCO Sales Manager

SUMMARY:

An integral part of our USA sales team, the National ESCO Sales Manager, NSEM, (Energy Service Company) is expected to develop relationships with ESCO’s, Super ESCO’s, ESCO sub-contractors, energy consultants and utility personnel.  The NESM will drive sales of NICOR branded LED products via electrical wholesale partners/distributors that cater to the needs of the ESCO channel.  The NESM must understand utility energy rebate programs and current Federal/State tax codes to maximize effectiveness and to provide our customers with the best “total cost of ownership” solution.

REPORTS TO:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Through professional personal selling efforts increase sales of NICOR Inc. products throughout the United States of America.
  • Train and educate agents, distributors, contractors, consultants and end-users on the value of NICOR branded products via hands-on presentations and webinars.
  • Ensure that sales are profitable and meet or exceed expectations and requirements as set by Management.
  • Leverage, develop and maintain relationships with key customers throughout the USA to support increased NICOR sales and profits.
  • Be a sales leader and team player; coordinate sales activities with NICOR Regional Sales Managers, their assigned independent sales representatives (agents), and inside sales team.

Data Center Business Development Manager

As an integral part of our North American National Accounts Team, the Data Center Business Development Manager will assume a leadership role in new business development and be responsible for account management and revenue growth focusing on major US Data Center accounts. Electrical Engineer

FLSA:  Exempt

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.

SUMMARY:

The Engineering Staff will provide engineering support and technical direction for defining, designing, bringing to market, and supporting NICOR’s solid-state lighting product lines.  The Electrical Engineer will deal with control systems focusing on the design, development, and testing of our products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Management teams, Marketing, and Sales to define new product requirements, and map the requirements into technical performance specifications.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Operations to bring new SSL product designs through prototyping, testing, certification, and product launch.
  • Differentiate and manage SSL product design projects including: technology provider selection; project goals; schedules; budget; and overall project management functionalities.
  • Define, organize, and maintain NICOR technical database libraries of SSL specifications, CAD databases, design documents and revisions, bills of materials (BOS), etc.
  • Evaluate and select the electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical, and semiconductor components determined to be optimal for design and manufacture of NICOR SSL products.
  • Continuously review and evaluate new SSL technologies, competitor products, and NICOR SSL products (including field failures and customer returns) so as to keep NICOR at the forefront of SSL competition.
  • Help optimize supply chain, manufacturing cost reduction, quality control, and resolution of any product issues.

EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree - Specified Engineering Disciplines include:
    • Electrical Engineer – EE
    • Mechanical Engineer – ME
    • Application Engineer - AE
    • Solid State Lighting Engineer - SSLE

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Engineering software - Mechanical:  Solid works, Draft sight; Electrical:  Solid works PCB, Eagle PCB, PC Worx, JetBrains; InDesign; Illustrator; Photometric toolbox
  • Basic math and reading (English) skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with excellent follow-up
  • Five years related industry experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Theory-of-operation knowledge and understanding of: LED’s, electrical power supply and drive circuitry, heat sink thermodynamics, optics, and general knowledge of Solid-State Lighting components.
  • General hands-on proficiency with computers, electronic test instruments, lab and shop tools related to prototype building and testing.
  • EE to have strong control experience.
  • Good project management skills and experience as related to bringing new products to market.
  • Ability to interface with and manage a wide variety of component suppliers, technology vendors, contract manufacturers, design service providers, etc.
  • Critical thinking and problem resolution skills a must.
  • Responsive sense of urgency to take approved final product to market in an efficient manner.
  • Experience working with international cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize business needs.
  • Team player, strong collaboration skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • In a typical interior/warehouse/office environment:  work performed in an Office setting is largely a sedentary role, must be able to sit for long durations of time; warehouse environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust and fumes.
  • May require standing or walking for more than 4 hours per day.
  • Shop work building, modifying, and testing SSL prototypes using hand tools.
  • Laboratory work using electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Able to lift 40lbs.
  • Limited travel to various service/component suppliers’ meetings or industry conferences and trade shows.

  • Hand tools and power tools for prototype building and modifications.
  • Computer, phone, copier, fax machine, scanner, and standard office equipment
