District Sales Manager - Northwest US (WA, OR, ID, N. CA)

SUMMARY:

An integral part of our USA Account team, District Sales Manager will assume a leadership role in business development of new and current customers, project sales, product specification, and implementation of successful product launches while achieving sales and profitability goals.

REPORTS TO:

Regional Sales Manager and/or Vice President of Sales, NICOR Agent Sales Representative

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Through professional personal selling efforts increase profitable sales of NICOR, Inc. products throughout the DSM’s assigned territory.
  • Drive increased sales through direct selling efforts – replacing the work typically performed by the lighting agent. Sales, service, follow-up, on-site troubleshooting, customer events, counter days, industry events, etc.  Focus on driving increased sales and profits for NICOR.
  • Coordinate distributor targets, solicitations, and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  • Coordinate contractor and end user targets, solicitations and events with NICOR Agent Sales Representative.
  • Promote and increase brand awareness through sales and marketing activities.
  • With samples, literature and other sales tools provide by the company, will create stock and project sales throughout the territory.
  • Drive stock sales through distribution and will drive project sales through distribution, contractors, ESCOs, National Accounts, builders, developers, etc.
  • Ensure that sales are profitable and meet or exceed expectations and requirements as set by Management.
  • Leverage, develop and maintain relationships with key customers throughout the territory to support increased NICOR sales and profits.
  • Travel as required to effectively manage and train the outside sales staff and monitor territory activities, trends, issues and opportunities for growth and increased market penetration.  Overnight travel sometimes required.
  • Prepare detailed sales forecasts and projections as required and present plan to applicable employees.
  • Required to travel to NICOR Headquarters (Albuquerque, NM) to participate in Operation Review meetings and ongoing training and strategy meetings.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Manufacturer Representative Management experience required
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in the Electrical and/or Lighting Industry
  • Strong references from Distributors and Manufacturer Representatives

Client Relations Representative

SUMMARY:

The Client Relations Representative is responsible for providing effective customer service and sales knowledge for all customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively with other departments to determine inventory levels and product availability.

REPORTS TO:

Customer Service Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide sales support to outside sales staff to ensure effective levels of customer service.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to customers’ needs via telephone, email or other media.
  • Provide solutions to customer needs.
  • Translate customer requests into actual customer needs.
  • Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships by providing solutions to their needs.
  • Quote prices for various jobs as required.
  • Assist in locating special parts or products for customers using available resources.
  • Process customer orders and returns.
  • Provide excellent follow-up for all sales calls and orders as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing product and company-wide training.
  • Communicate daily with the Sales Department regarding customer needs and inquiries.
  • Special projects as required by Area Sales Director.
  • Upsell and offer promotions to customers/agents.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School or GED
  • 2-3 years of inside sales experience, in electrical distribution a plus
  • Basic math and reading (English) skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent follow-up
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to resolve problems
