NICOR developed the PrimeChime to fix that, replacing the parts that wear out with a digital chime and an integrated transformer in one unit. Built to End the Doorbell Callback
Failing mechanical doorbells were the number one callback issue for builders. A traditional chime depends on a separate transformer and a mechanical striker, and each is one more part that can wear, stick, or burn out. NICOR set out to design a doorbell that simply keeps working, and the PrimeChime was the result. It combines line voltage, low voltage, and the transformer in one unit with a digital control board and speaker, so there are fewer components to fail and fewer reasons for a return trip.
Meet the PrimeChime Family
PRCP2
PrimeChime Plus 2 (PRCP2) is the full-size original. It installs in a standard two-gang dual-voltage box, includes two lighted doorbell buttons, and supports separate front and rear door tones. Two units can be daisy-chained (200 ft max total wire length) for larger homes.
PRCP2A
PrimeChime Plus 2A (PRCP2A) adds ADA compliance to the PRCP2 with an integrated blue strobe that flashes when the chime rings. The strobe can be turned on or off, and the optional PRCP2STROBE remote strobe extends visual alerts to another room.
PRMC
PrimeChime Plus 2 Mini (PRMC) brings the same features to a compact unit that fits most non-metallic single-gang junction boxes. It can drive up to two video doorbells at once and daisy-chain up to 10 units (400 ft max total wire length).
PRMC-WL
PrimeChime Plus 2 Mini with Wireless Button (PRMC-WL) pairs the PRMC with a battery-powered wireless button that reaches up to 120 ft in open air. It is ideal for side entrances, back doors, and garages where running new bell wire isn’t practical.
Works with Today’s Video Doorbells
Every PrimeChime is designed to supply the proper voltage for compatible video doorbells, so no power or diode kit is needed. The compatibility list covers Ring, Google Nest, Arlo, Eufy, Wyze, Chamberlain myQ, Lorex, SimpliSafe, Skybell, and more. Two newer doorbells need an adapter, both available as accessories or as kits ordered with the chime:

PRCP2EBADAPT1WH
PRCP2EBADAPT1WH ecobee adapter: Required for the ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera. Works with the PRCP2 and PRCP2A alongside the ecobee chime adapter. Order as a kit with the EB suffix.
Simple Setup, Seamless Look
Every PrimeChime uses a single-button, voice-guided interface to choose from five chime tones (Ding Dong, Westminster, 3-note, 5-note, and 7-note) and five volume levels. Front and rear doors can each get their own tone, so homeowners always know which door to answer. The screwless faceplate is field paintable to blend into any wall, and lighted deco and stucco buttons are available in finishes including white, nickel, copper, black, antique brass, architectural bronze, and polished brass. Each unit is UL certified and backed by a 1-year limited system warranty.
