NICOR Lighting has launched a fully redesigned website, developed to better support the agents, distributors, and partners who rely on it. The new site reflects a significant investment in the company’s digital experience, designed to make finding products, building specifications, and accessing resources faster and simpler.
The redesign began with direct input from the agents, distributors, and customers who use the site in their daily work. NICOR asked how the existing website could better serve them, and the clearest priority was a faster, easier way to find products and reach specifications. That priority guided the project from start to finish. Rather than simply refreshing the previous site, NICOR built the experience around the way partners work, bringing its full product catalog, tools, and technical resources into one place, structured around three stages: finding the right product, building an exact part number, and using familiar tools that have been improved.
New Tools and Resources
The tools at the center of the new site were shaped by the same priority that guided the redesign: helping users reach products and specifications with less effort. Each was developed with input from the people who use the site and refined through internal review ahead of launch.
Discovery is where that effort begins. The redesigned catalog lets anyone browse at the family level, and signed-in users can drop to the SKU level for detailed, part-number views, narrowing results with filters along the way. Along the way, a set of filters for category, application, size, color, and more lets users narrow the catalog to exactly what they need, and a built-in comparison feature works within whichever catalog view is active, placing products side by side so the right choice is easier to see, with full SKU-level comparison available once signed in.
Once a product is found, the configurator takes over. Available on every product page, it guides users through their selections, generates a valid part number, and returns the matching specifications in a few steps, replacing the manual cross-referencing the task once required. From there, a request-for-quote button lets users submit the configured part number directly, with account details filled in automatically for those signed in. Signed-in users can also save products to custom lists, keeping the items for a project or quote together in one place. The searchable Product Library then closes the loop on documentation: rather than opening a product page and scrolling to its downloads, users can search by product family or SKU, filter by document type, and pull spec sheets, installation instructions, and other literature directly.
The redesign also carried forward the familiar tools NICOR’s partners already depend on, each brought up to date. The Lighting Layout tool has been refreshed with NICOR’s newest products, the Rebate Finder continues with added resources for those who need a refresher, and the Agent Locator, once a static directory, is now fully searchable by territory or agent name with an interactive map. Together, these updates round out an experience designed to move with the way partners work, from first search to final specification.
The new NICOR Lighting website is available now at nicorlighting.com. NICOR’s previous site will remain accessible as a legacy version for a transition period before it is retired.
